About the Service:
Holt Youth Project serves children and young people across North Norfolk. We are a Project that prides itself on our preventative programmes giving young people the opportunity to reach their full potential and meeting their own aspirations.
Location: Holt Youth Project – Holt, Norfolk
Hours of Work: 30 hours per week
Salary: £13.40 per hour
We are seeking someone who:
Have the ability to relate and have rapport with young people.
Are passionate to make a positive difference to the lives of young people.
Has the ability to nurture, support and show empathy.
Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding, and being non-judgemental.
Treats young people with respect, allowing them to have a voice.
Inspires and motivates children and young people.
Within this role, you will work under our lead practitioners’ supervision.
Day-to-day tasks:
Contribute to planning, and delivery across a wide range of ages and abilities.
Proactively engage and support children and young people to make positive choices to reach their full potential.
Ensure the wellbeing and pastoral care of children and young people.
Provide opportunities for young to improve social and communication skills in different settings.
Ensure accurate recording of sessions is completed as instructed to support management.
Handle sensitive data responsibly.
Liaise with and report to senior lead practitioner and manager.
Adhere strictly to health and safety and safeguarding procedures to safeguard the welfare of the children and young people.
Attend training relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
In addition, there may be some variation or development of the above job and responsibilities without changing the general nature of the post.
Other skills:
Good communication skills.
Ability to be proactive and adaptable.
Organisational skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Word.
The capacity to work in a demanding environment.
The ability to remain calm under pressure.
Willingness to fully participate in all aspects of all programmes.
The ability to work alone or within a team.
